Is a folder specific to the game you are getting the crash log from. For SoC, it is STALKER-SHOC. For Clear Sky, STALKER-STCS. Call or Pripyat, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat. The file itself is called xrayXXXXXX.log (where XXXXXX is your Windows login name). Feb 10, 2014 The above fix got my copy of STALKER to launch successfully, but it created its own problem. Load times become excruciating and saving the game would cause the game to hang for around 10 seconds. After searching for why this might be happening, the one solution I came across again and again was to make sure the game wasn't set to compatibility. Patch v1.5.07 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky improving both the download and retail versions of the game. 1.5.04 and 1.5.05 saved games will be compatible with patch 1.5.07 Saved games.

I have trouble with my brand new RX 580, that I recieved and installed today. I also downloaded STALKER: CS anew from Steam. At first I run the game and set the resolution and all graphic settings to maximum, including DX10.1 mode. After that I exit and restart the game. I see a black screen first, then the game appears minimized. I switch to it and GSC intro begins to play, but just for a second. Then the game crashes (xrengine stopped working). If I manage to skip the Intro, the game crashes in the main menu. This way I can't play with the settings to see what exactly causes the crash, because like I wrote, can't get to the menu

This was caused by the fact that the autosave function failed tosave all data, and once such a saved game was loaded, the game became impossible to complete. If this error occurred, it was necessary to restart thegame from the beginning.
